Primary Workshops:
KS1 WORKSHOPS
Our workshops are linked to the EYFS and KS1 National Curriculum concentrating on learning through play and creative development. There will be opportunities to pretend, dance, make music, explore, role-play (both new and familiar roles) with students using their imaginations to create their own plays, songs and scenarios based on particular themes. They will develop life skills such as co-operation, concentration, decision making and will encourage self-esteem and positive social interaction. Themes include:
* Festivals (e.g. Guy Fawkes)
* Myths and Legends (e.g. Beowulf)
* Shakespeare (e.g. A Midsummer Night's Dream)
* Animals and Creatures (e.g. Under the Sea)
* Adventure and Exploration (e.g. Smugglers)
* Stories from Different Cultures (e.g. Ashanti tales)

KS2 WORKSHOPS
Our workshops are adapted from the 'units' that we cover in our performing arts school. In all of our units students will have the opportunity to learn new skills in all three media, to respond to a wide range of stimuli from different times and cultures and to communicate ideas and feelings. PLATFORM 2 aims to make strong links with the KS2 National Curriculum and The Literacy Framework to complement learning in schools. PLATFORM 2 also aims to promote health and fitness through performance and will support TDC's Cultural Strategy and Play Policy and Strategy by inspiring young people

Schools can select whether they wish their main focus to be on drama, music or dance. The above are examples of the units we cover in our academy, but our workshops can be adapted to cover almost any theme, subject or stimuli.
